The Pendyffryn Children’s Trust 2011 summer season

Another very successful holiday season took place over the first 3 weeks of August 2011 at Timber Hill, Broad Haven, Pembrokeshire. Once again the owners , John and Annette Bauer, were extremely helpful and accommodating in providing extra equipment needed for the more disabled children.

The weather especially during the middle week was not perfect but this was certainly not noticed by the children! The recipients were 26 children and 15 parents and the comments in the visitors’ book and feed- back from the referral agencies were some of the best we have ever had.

Mark Griffiths, Director of Sport, at Moulsford School joined as a new volunteer and his energy was an immediate hit with the more lively children!

Latest News

A deliberate effort has been made to raise the profile of the Trust in Oxfordshire and many letters have been written to potential new friends and donors with considerable success. We have also undertaken school talks and garage sales and the personal donations have been most very important . This has resulted in a boost to the funding and allows another full season to take place for 2012.

At the AGM in November Mrs Deidre Lunney who has been our hard working and diligent Treasurer for many years indicated that she wished to retire and concentrate on other work in her home village. Her contribution to the Trust has been immense and we are all extremely grateful for all she has done and wish her well in the future. An active hunt is now on for a new Treasurer with several cndidates now being approached.

Jeremy Irwin –Singer who has been Chairman since 1995 also announced at the AGM he would step down from this role with effect from the next AGM in the autumn of 2012.

Mark Griffiths was welcomed as a new volunteer and has already contributed with his energy to the 2011 holiday as well as involving Moulsford School, where he is Director of Sport, in active fund-raising.

Fund Raising -Concert April 28th 2012

A piano recital by Daniel Propper from Sweden has been arranged by Sheelin de Freyne (new committee member) at the Jacqueline du Pre Music Centre, St Hilda’s College, Oxford on 28th April 2012 and a second one the next day at Moulsford School.

Fuller details will be announced soon.
