Our Charity is totally dependent on the donations received from our supporters, from trusts and legacies and fund raising efforts. We have no paid staff and all work is done on a voluntary basis.
To enable our holidays to happen we rent holiday accommodation for the families we are providing a holiday for and our volunteers. This rent is therefore our major cost. In 2006 we needed over £13,500 to cover this and all our other costs, such as outings, postage, telephone, travel and insurance. In 2011 our rent and insurance alone will cost over £12,000.
The trust is always in need of new funds.We have no regular sources of income and rely on a wide variety of fund raising activities which have included concerts, play readings, one man shows, slimathons, clothes sales,punt races,sponsored cycling,walking,sailing and horse riding,barn dances,raffles and dinners.
£10 would pay for the volunteers mobile phone for the summer
£50 would pay for toys we buy each summer for the children while on holiday.
£100 would pay for a family of 4 to have on outing during their week’s stay.
£600 would pay for our public liability insurance during the summer.
£1000 would pay for a family of 4 to have a weeks holiday
